Notifications in the app
In the app, go to You, then Notifications. Four switches:
- Questions waiting: when there's something to answer in your language.
- Money: when pending earnings become available, and before the monthly payout.
- Your questions: when a question you asked is done.
- Tips: now and then, ways to earn more.
Question alerts only arrive between the hours you choose (8:00 to 22:00 unless you change it), in your time zone, and not on any quiet days you pick. Payouts sent or failed, and sign-ins on a new device, always come through.
Emails
The same page in the app has an Emails group, and on the website you find the same switches under Settings, then Emails. Each one is on or off for your account:
| Switch | You get | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Question results | An email when a question you asked finishes | On |
| Low credits | An email when a question takes your own balance below 1,000 credits | On |
| Expiring credits | An email 30 days and again 7 days before credits you bought expire | On |
| Weekly digest | A Monday email about last week | Off |
| New audiences | An email when an audience you could join opens and the app can't tell you | On |
| Tips | Notes on using 50heads, including a welcome | On |
How the three credit and digest emails work:
- Low credits is sent once, when a question takes your balance from above 1,000 credits to below it. We send no more than one a week, and none if you have automatic top-up on, since your balance refills. It covers your own balance, not a team's.
- Expiring credits is sent once for each purchase at 30 days and once at 7 days. Credits you spend are always the oldest first. It covers your own balance, not a team's.
- Weekly digest arrives on Monday morning, UK time. It gives the last seven days: questions asked, answers received, questions still open, credits spent from your own balance and your balance. If you asked nothing and got no answers that week, we send nothing.
Every one of these emails ends with an Unsubscribe link that turns off just that switch, and an Email settings link. Sign-in codes, security notices and payment receipts have no switch: they always come.
Emails come in your language, as set in your profile.
Alerts for developers
Spend-cap, error and new-agent alerts are separate and are on Developers. See spend caps. Developers can use webhooks instead of email.
Marketing emails
We only send them if you opt in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
