What tags are
Tags are things you choose to tell us about yourself, in groups such as life stage, home, income, work, interests, shopping, media and games, pets and tech. For example "parent of young children", "Amazon Prime member" or "plays console games". There are about 120.
Requesters at any tier can target questions at people with certain tags, age bands or genders. When a question matches you, it is shown with a boost such as "+25% · matches you".
Adding tags, age and gender
Go to You, then About you, or fill them in when you first set up the app. Pick an age band and a gender if you like, and any tags that apply, up to each group's limit (income and education take one). Changes save straight away. Remove all clears the tags.
All of it is optional. You'll still see untargeted questions without them.
What requesters see
Nothing about you. Targeting works on groups: a requester sees roughly how many heads match (and can't target groups smaller than 200). Results by age band or gender appear only in totals of 5 or more, and only when what is left out is also 5 or more. Your age, gender and tags are never shown with your answers, and never with your name.
Be honest
Choose what is true. Flipping your age band, income or education again and again pauses targeted questions for a month, and answering as someone you're not makes the results worse for everyone.
Age band
If you verify your ID for Tier 2 and agree, your age band is set from your ID and replaces the one you chose. It appears read-only in About you.
