Adding a method
Go to You, then Payout method, then Add a method.
- PayPal: your PayPal email. We send a confirmation code to check it's yours.
- UK bank: sort code, account number and the name on the account. We check the name with the bank (Confirmation of Payee) and show you the result.
- Wise: your email or bank details, with the fields your country needs.
- Venmo (US only, Tier 1 and above): the US phone number on your Venmo account. Paid in US dollars.
Which methods you see depends on your country and tier. Methods your tier can't use yet are shown greyed out with the reason.
Why we ask you to confirm it's you
Adding or changing a payout method is the moment a stolen account would try to move money. So it asks for a code sent to your verified phone and, at Tier 2 or above, a quick face check.
Venmo
Venmo is for heads in the US from Tier 1. It has the same limits as PayPal: at Tier 1 you can take out up to €295.00 at a time.
- One Venmo account per head. Adding another replaces the one on file.
- A 48-hour wait. For your safety, a new or changed Venmo account can be paid 48 hours after you add it. We email you when it's added or changed, so if it wasn't you, there's time to tell us before any money moves.
- Your balance's own holds still apply. Only money that's already available can go to Venmo.
- One account, one head. A Venmo account used by more than one 50heads account is checked by a person before anything is paid.
What we store
Account numbers are held by the payout provider, not by us. We keep a token and the last four characters so you can tell your methods apart. Venmo numbers and PayPal emails are stored encrypted.
Default method
Mark one method as default. It's used for the automatic month-end payout.
Tier 3 name matching
At Tier 3 the payout account must be in your own name. If the name doesn't match, the payout is returned and we explain what to change.
