The owner of a team can close it when it's no longer needed. Closing can't be undone.
Closing a team is switched on with organisations. If you don't see Close the team on your Team page, it isn't on for your team yet.
What happens when you close a team
- Credits. Unused credits go back to the card that bought them, at the price paid. Credits bought by bank transfer are refunded by bank transfer. Credits never move to another team or account. We email you when a refund is on its way.
- Keys and apps. Every API key, connected app, Slack or Microsoft Teams workspace, webhook and service account made for the team stops working.
- Invitations. Invitations not accepted yet are cancelled.
- Questions, invoices and history. Members can still read them. Nobody can ask, top up or change anything in the team.
Close a team
- Switch to the team, then open Team.
- In Close the team, confirm it's you when asked. The check lasts 10 minutes.
- Choose Close the team and confirm.
Only the owner can close a team.
When a team can't close yet
| Why | What to do |
|---|---|
| Questions are still running, scheduled or waiting for approval | Let them finish, or cancel them. |
| It's the organisation's main team and the organisation has other teams | Ask an organisation admin to make another team the main one. |
| It's the organisation's last team, and the organisation has a verified domain, single sign-on or SCIM | Remove them in the organisation's settings first. |
| Some of its credits weren't bought by card or bank transfer | Contact us and we'll close it for you. |
If refunds at closing aren't switched on for your organisation yet, a team with credits left can't be closed. Contact us and we'll refund them first.
When an organisation's last team closes, the organisation closes too. Its audit log is kept.
