Most questions on 50heads go to heads: people we verify, who answer in the app. You can also ask people you already know. Choose Your audience when you ask, and instead of heads you get a link to share. Anyone with the link answers in the browser, with no app and no account.

What it costs

The first 100 accepted answers each calendar month are free. After that, each accepted answer costs 5 credits. There is no tier, no rush and no charge for images.

When you publish, we set aside free answers for the link first, up to the maximum number of answers you chose, and reserve credits only for the rest. A link within your free answers needs no credits at all. Accepted answers use the free ones first. When the link closes, credits for answers you did not get come back to your balance, and free answers it did not use go back to that month's allowance.

The free answers belong to whoever pays: your own account, or the team when you ask in a team. Your balance shows how many are left this month, and the composer shows how many a link will use before you publish. They do not carry over to the next month.

What you get

The same result page as any other question: how many chose each option, which one leads and how strong that lead is, with the CSV, PDF and PNG exports. The result says Your audience · shared link where a heads result says the tier, and every export carries the same line.

What we check, and what we do not

  • We block obvious repeats. One browser can answer a link once; a repeat sees the thanks page but is not counted or charged.
  • We run a short check that each visitor is a person, not a script.
  • We do not verify who answered. Nobody is phone- or ID-checked, nobody is paid, and an answer through a link never carries a verification reference. Every result says so, so nobody reading it mistakes it for a heads result.

The people who answer are whoever you sent the link to. The result reflects the people who chose to answer, and may not reflect those who did not.

After you publish, the question page shows the link, a QR code and a one-line invitation you can copy. Send it however you reach these people: email, a newsletter, WhatsApp, Slack, Teams or your website. 50heads never contacts your audience.

If you set a Shown as name, it appears at the top of the page ("Acme asks"). Without one, the page shows only the question.

Closing

A link stays open for the time you chose (one, seven, fourteen or thirty days) or until it reaches the maximum answers, whichever comes first. You can close it early from the question page; answers already accepted stay charged and the rest of the reserve comes back. A closed link never reopens, and the page tells late visitors that the question has closed.

On the Multiple questions tab, choose Your audience and the rows become a set: one link, the questions answered in the order you wrote them, and one thanks at the end. A set takes two to ten questions. Each question keeps its own result page, exports and credits, so nothing about reading results changes; the set page shows them in order with one link, one QR code and one Close the set. The price is the same 5 credits an accepted answer, per question, with the maximum answers you set applying to each question. Free answers go to the questions in order, so the first question uses them before the second.

A person who closes the tab halfway comes back to the next question, not to the start. The set's CSV lists every answer with a visit number, a random id for one browser's pass through the set, so you can see how one person answered across the questions without knowing who they are.

The first time you choose Your audience, you confirm once that you are entitled to invite these people and that your use of their answers follows privacy law where they are. 50heads hosts the question and takes the answers for you; what we keep about the people who answer is in answering a question someone sent you.
