How many heads
A head is a person who answers questions on 50heads. Fifty is the default because it suits many everyday choices. Whether it is enough depends on how costly a wrong decision would be and how close you expect the options to be.
- 20–30 suits a quick gut check or a free-text follow-up.
- 50 is a reasonable starting point for a choice between two to four options.
- 100–200 helps when options are close, when a wrong choice would be costly, or when you want to compare groups.
- On the web you can ask up to 5,000; in the app, up to 500.
The price shows before you ask.
Which tier
A tier tells you how the person answering has been verified.
- Tier 1 (20 credits an answer): people with a verified phone number. Right for names, creative and quick first impressions.
- Tier 2 (42 credits): people who have verified their ID. Use it for free-text answers and for ages taken from the ID check.
- Tier 3 · Established (80 credits): established heads, who have a long record of careful answers. They see new questions first.
Rush
Tick Rush to show your question to heads before other questions. It costs 1.5 times as much. A rush question closes 4 hours after it goes live, with or without all its answers. Credits for answers you don't get come back to your balance.
If fewer heads answer
Sometimes a question closes before it's full, for example a targeted question with a small pool overnight. You pay only for the answers you get; the rest goes back to your balance, and the result shows how many answered.
