A quick result needs seven things: the question, who answered, how many, how the answers split, how strong the lead is, any reasons you collected, and a link. Put them on one page. You don't need a deck for a decision that took one question.
The minimum useful result
| Part | What to write |
|---|---|
| Question | The exact wording and the options |
| Who answered | The audience, such as "people in the UK aged 25 to 34" |
| How many | The number of answers |
| The split | The share for each option |
| Strength | How strongly the answers favor the leader |
| Reasons | Short written reasons, if you asked |
| Link | Where to see the full result |
Leave out anything that doesn't change what the reader does.
A one-page template
Copy this and fill it in:
Decision: [what we are choosing]
Question asked: [exact wording]
Options: [A / B / C]
Who answered: [audience] · [number] answers · [date]
Result: [Option] led by [number] points among these [number] answers.
Strength: [High / Medium / Low] for this number of answers.
Why: [two or three short reasons, if asked]
Limits: This shows what this group chose. It is not a forecast of sales.
Next: [what we will do]

The "Limits" line keeps the result honest. Don't remove it.
How to describe the result
| Say this | Not this |
|---|---|
| B led by 36 points among these 50 answers. | B is better. |
| The lead is strong for a sample this size. | The lead is real. |
| People chose B when asked which they would order. | People prefer B. |
Ways to share it on 50heads
- Public page. A page with the question, the bars and the summary. It never shows who answered. It is hidden from search engines. Anyone with the link can open it without signing in. Switch it off and the link stops working.
- Private link. An unlisted link to the full results, written answers included, for people without an account. It never shows who answered, and search engines don't index it.
- PDF report. A one-page report to attach or print.
- Image. The chart as a square, landscape or story image.
- CSV. Every answer: the option or text, the tier, the time and the verification reference. It never includes who answered.
Choose the one that fits the reader. A public page suits something you will post. A private link suits a colleague who needs the written reasons.
If you publish it
Say the result came from 50heads and how many heads answered. Our terms for requesters set this out. You may use results in your own work, decks and publications.
What to leave out
- Individual answers, unless the reader needs the written reasons.
- Claims that go beyond the result. "Customers want B" is not what the result says.
- A sample of one question as proof of a strategy. One result is one input.
Next step
Open a finished result and make a public page or a PDF report. To get a result to share, write one question and see the price first. See pricing and try the estimator. It charges nothing. For more on reading results, see reading your results.
