A tier tells you how the person answering has been verified. A head is a person who answers questions on 50heads. Requesters choose a tier when they ask. Heads see questions at their tier and below.
| Tier | Verified | A requester pays | A head earns |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 · Warm-up | Signed in only | Nothing: warm-up and practice questions aren't sold | Warm-up answers go into Pending, and become Available when the phone is verified |
| 1 | One real phone number | $0.25 an answer | $0.15 |
| 2 | ID and live-face check | $0.55 | $0.35 |
| 3 · Established | Tier 2 plus a long record of careful answers | $1.05 | $0.65 |
Prices are for a short, pick-one question. Longer questions, images and rush answers cost more and pay more in proportion.
Moving up
- Tier 0 to 1: verify your phone.
- Tier 1 to 2: verify your ID. We suggest it after 50 accepted answers. It costs $2.50, taken from your available earnings when the check is approved.
- Tier 2 to 3 (Established): by invitation, after a long record of careful answers and a payout account in your own name.
Moving down
Tiers can go down as well as up. Missing regular re-checks, or answering known-answer questions carelessly, lowers your tier. If you think we've got it wrong, you can appeal.
For requesters
Tier 1 suits names, creative and quick first impressions. Tier 2 heads have verified their ID. Tier 2 and above can ask for free-text answers, and Tier 2 can ask for ages taken from the ID check. Tier 3 heads are established heads: they have a long record of careful answers, and their answers arrive first.
