Automated checks do a lot of the work on 50heads: they decide which answers are paid, and they flag accounts and tier changes for a person to decide. People affected by those decisions deserve to know how often we get them wrong. Each quarter we publish:
- appeals received, by kind (rejected answers, tier changes, failed ID checks, closed accounts);
- appeals upheld;
- the median time to a decision;
- questions refused under the acceptable use policy, by category.

50heads opens to heads in October 2026, so the first report covers our first full quarter.
How decisions are made
- Answers are checked for the Apple or Google integrity check, timing and known-answer accuracy before they count. An answer that fails is not paid, and we show the reason.
- Accounts are reviewed when signals suggest several accounts are run by one person or by automation. A person decides before any account is suspended, frozen or closed, or any earnings are clawed back. The only automatic step is a hold on payouts while a person looks.
- Tiers go up when a head verifies. A tier drop after wrong check answers or missed re-checks is decided by a person: the system flags the account and a person decides. This matches our automated monitoring and decisions notice.
We don't publish the exact thresholds, because that would help people get round them. Any head can ask for a person to review a decision through appeals. A person who was not part of the decision decides appeals about an unpaid answer within 48 hours and other appeals within five business days. Either way, you get a written reply within two weeks at the latest.
