These terms are between you and 50heads Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, based in Cambridgeshire ("50heads", "we", "us"). They apply when you buy credits, ask questions, or use our API or MCP server. You accept them when you first buy credits or create an API key. If you use 50heads for an organization, you accept them for that organization and confirm you're allowed to.

Our acceptable use policy and refund policy form part of these terms.

1. What we provide

We put short questions to people who have signed up to answer them ("heads"), collect their answers and give you the results. We verify heads as described on our verification page, at the tier you choose.

We don't promise any particular answer, that a question will reach every head you asked for, or that results will suit a particular purpose. Results reflect what the heads who answered thought at the time.

2. Credits

  • You pay for questions with credits. 1 credit is worth £0.01. Prices are shown in credits before you ask.
  • Credits are a prepayment for 50heads services. They aren't money, e-money or a deposit, you can't transfer them to anyone else, and you can't exchange them for cash except as a refund under these terms.
  • Credits expire 24 months after purchase. We tell you before any expire, and spending always uses the oldest credits first. Expired credits aren't refunded.
  • Bonus credits from larger packs are spent after paid credits and aren't refundable.
  • Prices include VAT where it applies; invoices show the treatment.

3. Asking

  • When you ask, we reserve the full price. You're charged only for answers accepted; anything unused comes back to your balance when the question closes.
  • You can cancel a live question. Answers already given are charged.
  • We may refuse, pause or stop any question that breaks the acceptable use policy. A refused question costs nothing; a stopped question is refunded for answers not yet given.
  • You're responsible for what you ask, including any images or text you upload, and for having the right to use them.

4. Agents, API keys and connections

  • You're responsible for everything done with your API keys and connections, including by AI agents acting for you, up to the spend caps you set.
  • Keep keys secret. Tell us right away if one may have been exposed, and revoke it.
  • Don't use the API to get round rate limits, caps, moderation or verification, or to build a competing panel from our heads.

5. Your results

  • We give you a license to use, copy, publish and adapt results from your questions, for any lawful purpose, for ever.
  • If you publish results, don't present them as more than they are: say how many heads answered and at which tier.
  • We keep the right to hold results in pooled, anonymized form, to run and improve 50heads (for example, to set better known-answer questions). We never publish your questions or results unless you make a results page public.

6. Disputes about results

If you think a result is wrong because of a fault on our side, dispute it within 7 days of the question closing. If we agree, we'll refund the credits and issue a credit note.

7. Our liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.
  • We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make using results.
  • If you're a consumer, you also have your legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These terms don't affect them.

8. Suspending and ending

You can stop using 50heads at any time and close your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts heads at risk, or is used for fraud. If we close your account without fault on your part, we refund unused credits.

9. Changes

We may change these terms. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, by email and on the site. If you don't agree, you can close your account and get unused credits back.

10. General

  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you can also bring proceedings where you live.
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Translations are for convenience; the English version governs.
